Rose Marie was predeceased by her sisters Florence Whiting and Josie DeVita, and her two brothers, Joseph and Lawrence Giummo.Ĭalling Hours will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Timothy P. Surviving sisters Margaret Fischetti of Florida, Antoinette Iacono of Brooklyn, and Ida McNamara of Virginia. Rose Marie was affectionately known as Ma Rose, Grandma Rose, and Gigi by her grandchildren Angela, Victoria and Daniel Berretta, Michael, Vincent and Maria Berretta, Nichola Glass, Catherine Parliament, Adam Williams, Olivia Jenson, Blake Williams, Nicholas, Raymond and Nathan Bartolotti, April Karanian, Rebecca and Jamie Lucas, Gina, and Steven Bocchino, and Luca, John, and Claire Renne. Survivors include her children, Joseph (Michelle) Berretta of Chandler Arizona, Michael Berretta of Poughkeepsie, Rosemarie (Jeffrey) Williams of Poughkeepsie, Madeline (Skip) Bartolotti of Highland, Julia Bocchino of Massachusetts, Theresa (Rob) Lucas of Allendale, NJ, John (Kara) Renne of West Palm Beach, FL. Rose Marie loved to cook, travel, play cards, and tell her stories, but the most important part of her life was spending time with her large family. She was extremely close to her loving sisters and adored her children, but she had a special bond with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved their visits. Rose Marie was a member of Poughkeepsie Senior Center where she had wonderful friends, some old and many new. Years later, she was lured out of retirement to become the Office Manager at Madeline’s Dance Center- a job she cherished, until retiring again in 2007.

After moving to Poughkeepsie and when her children were in school, she went to work as a secretary at Titusville Elementary School and then she was the Office Manager at Poughkeepsie Anesthesia Group. In her youth, Rose Marie worked as a secretary at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Luciano predeceased her on October 6, 2013. They were married on a snowy October 4, 1987, at Saint Denis Church in Hopewell Junction. Rose Marie was the wife of the late Luciano Renne. She was a Poughkeepsie resident since 1960. Rose Marie Renne, 83, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away peacefully while surrounded by loving family members on May 2, 2023. She was born on February 24, 1940, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Sebastiano and Lena Giummo (Bordinaro). Rose Marie grew up in Brooklyn, along with her 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
